let me analyze... 1st, the shape + structure look lyk rain dropping, 2nd, the repetition/echo of words in the next line adds to the flow n creates a sense of raining n falling too, eg. 淋得湿透/透, 彻底颓废的/彻底幻灭 etc.
btw i hav sum gay lines:

雨水散发出伦敦烟尘的味道
舔了才发现它像某种英式红茶
